    jack.

i know i have made this claim before with other babies, but this baby was ser-i-ous-ly the easiest newborn ever. i walked in, his mama (remember her?) had just fed him, and we posed and swaddled and took pictures for nearly 3 hours, and he never.made.a.peep. didn't need to be fed. didn't need anything. such a good baby with a head full of hair. a dream session.

    baby photo booth.

ha. i love little nate. remember when he was just a tiny little bean? i could just about eat him up.

at one point, i was setting something up in one room and looked over and saw big sister playing quietly by herself in her room. had to grab this shot. not sure why, but it kind of melts my heart a little bit.

that's all for now...we'll see more of baby nate in 6 more months!

    hudson.

sweet hudson and his parents came all the way across the bridge from arkansas to see me. so this was my first newborn session that was in my dining room studio.  it was actually great, because i could control the light and be more prepared in that aspect. i can always tell what a difference light makes in my photos. anyway.

this little man was teeeeeeeeeeny! it was so fun. and- he gave me smiles!! the only thing was, when you're that small, you want every bit of cover and warmth you can get. so we didn't get too many naked shots. but you know what they say... if you can't beat 'em, join 'em ....put them in a knit baby cocoon?

    a baby ella.

sweet little ella did so well for me. she wasn't too keen on being posed, but it was ok because she gave me some great baby smiles when she was awake. such a sweet family... and she had two older brothers too. same age as my boys...maybe it's a sign that i need a little girl? maybe?

    nahhh.

    not yet anyways :)

    Joseph.

This is the little guy that I mentioned here.  He was zonked. out. for the first 20 minutes, then after that he was ready to party.  He was so sweet and cute and happy; I absolutely loved working with this family!! And I am so excited about getting to document his first year. More cuteness to come for sure. Enjoy~

I don't know why, but I love this.

Posing babies is one of my most favorite things to do... It is tedious.. and time-consuming.. and requires extreme amounts of patience... but the end result is so worth it.

But then some times, you have a wide-eyed little one who is just sitting there all mushily and stares at you with those half-way cross-eyed eyes and big red plump lips and looks like there's nothing he'd rather be doing than sitting there looking at you. Aaaaannd I melted.

More coming from this little one this weekend.

    A little lesson in lighting.

How does she get the skin to look so creamy? Surely that's just done in Photoshop. There's no way pictures look like that, right out of the camera.

    Right?

Umm nope. Not when you have perfect, perfect lighting. I did this newborn session a few days ago (also first newborn session in 010) in the most perfect Midtown home with huge windows and diffuse light in the room we were in.  Newborns are my favorite, but you can only be as good as your lighting situation. Which is why I can't wait til I can have my own space and have newborn clients come to me!! (Which is in the works, Lord willing!)

Anyway, this shot is what it is. Straight out of the camera.  Naturally lit.  Beautiful new babe.  That's all I can say about that.  That and I love his fuzzy left arm.

Much, much more to come on this little guy!!!

Also- do you know what you're getting your hubby or wifey or special friend for Valentine's day?? Book your session now! I have a couple of openings in the next 2 weeks.  And some fun Valentines-y products (for past clients as well) to go along with it. Check back here or contact me for more info!

    William.

William may have beaten Reid's record of best-behaved newborn ever. He. was. a-ma-zing.  Did he cry once? Nope. Did he fall asleep easily? Absolutely. And when he was awake, he just sat there and stared at me.  So perfect! Not to mention he's pretty gorgeous. I mean, he let me pose him like this while he was wide awake!

    Isn't that so unheard of?!

Such a sweet little family.  And I had to sneak in some shots of big brother Collier- he was just as well-behaved once he warmed up to me a bit.  I loved his style... He looked like a little English lad in his gold-button pea coat and knee socks. Presh. Enjoy~
