i know i have made this claim before with other babies, but this baby was ser-i-ous-ly the easiest newborn ever. i walked in, his mama (remember her?) had just fed him, and we posed and swaddled and took pictures for nearly 3 hours, and he never.made.a.peep. didn't need to be fed. didn't need anything. such a good baby with a head full of hair. a dream session.

just a quick little sneak of tyler. remember when he was a newbie? can't believe he's all grown up...

we had a great session at shelby farms with tyler and his pups. we only froze him a little bit, but he was still a trooper. still can't believe all three looked right.at.me. in the second photo. not disclosing how many tries it took....

ha. i love little nate. remember when he was just a tiny little bean? i could just about eat him up.

at one point, i was setting something up in one room and looked over and saw big sister playing quietly by herself in her room. had to grab this shot. not sure why, but it kind of melts my heart a little bit.

this little man was teeeeeeeeeeny! it was so fun. and- he gave me smiles!! the only thing was, when you're that small, you want every bit of cover and warmth you can get. so we didn't get too many naked shots. but you know what they say... if you can't beat 'em, join 'em ....put them in a knit baby cocoon?

sweet little ella did so well for me. she wasn't too keen on being posed, but it was ok because she gave me some great baby smiles when she was awake. such a sweet family... and she had two older brothers too. same age as my boys...maybe it's a sign that i need a little girl? maybe?

on to the pictures. i decided it would be a good time to test out the new tilt-shift lens (lensbaby) i got a little while ago (along with a holga and some other film stuff- more on that later). it's a little tricky at first with all the manual focusin' and tiltin' and shiftin'. super fun though, i highly recommend it as a little fun thing to add to your bag of tricks. here's what we look like all tilt-shifted:

kind of a throwback collage of sorts. anyway. when i was going through these, they kind of reminded me of vintage polaroids so i decided to polaroid-ize them via my favorite iphone app.

This sweet girl braved some crazy wind and cold temps for this session, but I love this kind of vintage-feel that we came up with. She did sooo well- despite the runny nose and red cheeks too. It was worth it right?!!Ella and her family live in Seattle now so I'm glad they will have a little piece of downtown Memphis with them to cherish! Thanks again M family :)
