How much do I miss Birmingham?
Paul and I both attended Samford University in Birmingham, AL. We lived there from 2000-2006 when we decided to move back home to Memphis after finding out we were unexpectedly pregnant with baby boy #1 and Paul received a job offer from his favorite place he's ever worked- Target (sarcasm- it was awful). We loved Birmingham, but felt we should move closer to our families since we had no idea what in the world we were doing and were going to need all the support we could get.
I had not been back to Birmingham in some time, so when my sweet friend and sorority sister from college contacted me about doing a session for her new little babe, I thought it was high time to go on back to my old stomping grounds. And let me tell you- Birmingham is beautiful! How could I have forgotten?? Maybe because I was not any where near what you might consider to be a professional photographer when I lived there, and returning back opened my eyes to the city in an exciting new way. I also realized that it is a totally do-able day trip and I would welcome the opportunity to come back for a photo shoot for other Birmingham families. I mean why not? Birmingham is home to my friends, my sister, great restaurants, Anthropologie....
We were only there a few hours, and I got to spend it with this super cute little boy. He was AMAZING at only 3 months old. Didn't cry once. And when he did at the very end, it was for about 47 seconds. He is absolutely beautiful and I'm so glad I had this opportunity.
